Karl Blossfeldt (June 13, 1865 ? December 9, 1932 - age 67) was a German photographer,artist, sculptor and teacher who lived and worked in Berlin, Germany. He is best known for his work Urformen der Kunst first published in 1929 which was a close up study of plants through photography. He was able to get his amazing photos through the use of a home made camera that allowed him to magnify objects up to 30 times the actual size. "Urformen der Kunst"(The original art) is an amazing collection of lithographs. The series we have for sale here is from the 1942 edition. Each plate is 12.75 inches tall and 9.4 inches wide.
