Hand-colored stipple engravings from Aylmer Bourke Lambert's (1761-1842) A Description of the Genus Pinus. Published in London in from 1804-24. Original and absolutely amazing watercolor that adds so much depth to the illustrations. Given there large size and beauty I would have to say this is one of the greatest works on pine cones ever produced. This extremely rare set is in good condition with minimal foxing. The last three prints have been trimmed down and we have some not yet online that are mounded on board. Please call for an over the phone description and additional images. Size of the untrimmed prints approximately is 17 inches wide and 23 inches tall. We also have two of the best images framed in our framed art section.
